Harmony Barber Shop…

Did you know that you can get your haircut at Walt Disney World?  It might not be something that most people think about when going on vacation, but as a Disney lover…it was something I knew I wanted to plan in during Evangelyn’s first visit to Disney!

Vangie wasn’t born with much hair & it took it a LONG time to grow.  When it finally did, it was coming in very uneven.  I really wanted to wait for her first official hair cut to be at the adorable Harmony Barber Shop right on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.  So, the timing was perfect!

They have a “First Haircut Package” for $25 which comes with commemorative Mickey ears & a certificate.  You can also get a regular adult or child’s haircut for $19 & $18 (prices as on 1/29/19).

The moment arrived & she waited patiently for her turn in the tiny 3 chair “old fashioned” barber shop.

Her name was called, and we plopped her in the barber shop chair.  Let me tell you, Disney knows how to do a haircut!  All the distractions in the world come out…bubbles, spinning toys, and stickers galore.  A little bit of pixie dust later & her hair was back up in her pig tails.  She didn’t have much hair to begin with, but the back was so nice and even after this haircut.

She loved her Mickey ears, stickers, certificate & pixie dust!  And, they gave me a little envelope as a keepsake with the first bit of cut hair & more pixie dust!

This was a really fun “extra” for our family on this trip!!!  There is just so much to do at Disney that is above and beyond.  I LOVE that!

Another thing I love?  A beautiful “harmony!”  Sometimes guests are lucky enough to get a little visit by the Dapper Dans (Disney’s barbershop quartet) while they are getting a haircut.  They didn’t pop in while we were there, but they happened to be ending a “set” right outside the barber shop when we walked out.  They are one of my favorite things to stop and listen to at Disney World!  I’m never in that big of a hurry that I can’t stop to enjoy those lovely harmonies!

I love how their outfits change with the seasons!  Here’s a little glimpse of their Christmas outfits!!!  Their music even changes with the seasons!
