Topolino’s Terrace – Character breakfast review

My family loves character meals when we visit the Walt Disney World Resort.  Actually, even if I’m vacationing with only myself and another adult, we STILL choose at least one character meal!

We added a couple of nights at WDW after our cruise on the Disney Dream in early March of this year.  We were going to focus our park time at EPCOT (for the Flower and Garden Festival) and Hollywood Studios (for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway).  So, we chose Disney’s Pop Century Resort for our stay.  That way, we could also experience the NEW Skyliner!

Friday, March 6th, we took Disney transportation from Port Canaveral to Pop Century.  Once there, we hopped on the Skyliner to the new Riviera Resort for our late breakfast reservation at Topololino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera.

First of all, the Skyliner is so awesome!!!  It is our new favorite mode of transportation at Walt Disney World.  They were breezy and quick.

Once at the Riviera Resort, we explored the grounds briefly & marveled at the gorgeous mosaic arches of Peter Pan and Rapunzel.

Then we made our way upstairs to the restaurant.  It is a character breakfast by day, and a high class signature restaurant for dinner.  Our reservation was the latest time possible, so there were only a few other tables seated when we walked in.

The restaurant was very spacious and seemed extra open, since there are so many windows.  The theme is gorgeous!  There is a flat price point and an ala carte menu.  During your breakfast, you will meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck.

Since we were one of the last families seated, we had a some great interactions with four of our favorite cuties!  I love their new outfits!

The meal started with assorted pastries and very tasty juice.  The kids each ordered Mickey Waffle Dippers with two side choices.  Jason and I ordered the Fruit Plate (seasonal fruit, honey yogurt, seed granola and toasted sunflower butter) and the Sour Cream Waffle (roasted apple, Chantilly, orange maple syrup, and choice of meat).  We all really enjoyed every part of the dishes & they were presented beautifully!

Now, as you all know, spring of 2020 has not gone like anyone would have wanted.  I’m still in shock that the Disney Parks are closed & that we have all been sheltering in place for various amounts of time.  While I am thrilled that opening dates have been announced, I am a little sad that so many changes need to be made in order to reopen safely.  These are all temporary, so that is the good part.

While character experiences will be paused for the time being, it was announced that this restaurant will be opening when the parks do & will be the only character meal available at that time.  They have stated that it will be a modified character experience, so we will have to wait and see what that means.

But, either way…I highly recommend giving this breakfast a try!
